I have been working in accounting and finance roles for 16 years. Starting as an accountant while finishing my Masters Degree in Accounting and Finance. I then progressed into finance management roles with responsibility of enterprise Planning and BI processes. Through 15 years of hands-on finance experience I have gained a clear understanding and appreciation of day-to-day challenges faced by finance teams in the modern corporate environment.

My interest in finance systems brought me to the world of Oracle BI and Planning systems. By designing Hyperion Planning applications, I've developed the technical knowledge needed to appreciate and lead the relationship between business processes and the financial application design. A relationship that is essential to designing agile and flexible business solutions for good value.

Away from the office I spend most of my time introducing my 3yo boy to outback travel, and in general, an active outdoors lifestyle. When family commitments permit, I try to improve my aging fitness on a mountain bike, occasionally challenging myself to a race only to prove that I am better suited to the world of finance.

I also have an experimental streak in me and recently established a coffee plantation at Narrabeen. It's not very big but I will roast my own coffee in a couple of years.

With 17 years' experience in the IT industry I have gained extensive experience working with customers in a variety of industries to support their goals. Understanding my customers businesses and supporting their objectives is at the core of my approach to my working life.

As the former National Practice Manager of a leading Oracle implementation partner and self-employed project manager, I managed the solution design and project delivery of more than 20 implementations of budgeting and forecasting, and business intelligence solutions. More recently I have focused my attention on the management of Master Data to further improve customer processes and data quality. Throughout my career, delivery quality has been my primary objective.

As a husband and father of two young boys, most of my time away from the desk is spent with my family riding, swimming, throwing, catching, kicking, wrestling and any other boisterous activity we can think of.

When I'm not working with our customers or spending time with my family, I'm working on my swing and ball flight on the golf course. Can drive, cannot putt - hence the frustration.
